The International Working Test is an international gundog competition where all FCI countries from Europe may delegate 4 official teams consisting of 3 members. The IWT will be organised on Open Level this year. All countries are delegating their best dogs and handlers to this very prestigeous event, which is held in different countries of Europe every year. 2011 is the 20. anniversary in the history of IWTs, the Working Retriever Club of Hungary is proudly hosting it in Hungary. Let us mention that it is the first time that the right to organise this event has been given to a country of the former „eastern block”. Working with retrievers does not have very long traditions in Hungary, we are certainly still behind many countries if we look at the number of working retrievers and the training level of dogs in general, although we already have some dogs and handlers who are recognized in Europe, who are among the best on the international scene as well. We have a lot to do for our goal, which is popularizing working with retrievers, our beloved sport of field trialing and working tests in Hungary. This is what our club has been founded for 6 years ago. We will try to use the chance to show you a little piece of our beloved country of Hungary - we are sure for some of you it is gonna be the first time to visit us, so we will try to make it an unforgettable weekend. We are very proud of the beautiful grounds on which we may organise the IWT in the region of HegykÅ‘ - FertÅ‘d, which are parts of the world heritage close to the Neusiedler See. We are fortunate enough to use the wonderful grounds behind the rococo-baroque Palace of Eszterháza too, which is about 300 acres big and has originally been used for hunting. We are also proud to welcome a great team of judges. Should you have questions, would you need any help in planning your trip to Hungary, we are there for you at: info@workingretriever.hu Looking forward to meeting you in May Zsolt Böszörményi President of the Working Retriever Club of Hungary |
